At Nuclear Science Research Institute (NSRI) in Japan, radioactive wastes generated in-site have been stored in temporary storage facilities for a long time. The management of waste containers is a crucial task because neglecting corrosion increases the risk of leakage of the contents. We are going to use laser irradiation for rust removal from containers and have introduced the actual equipment. In this presentation, we will introduce the status of the introduction of that.
