計算コードやデータベースの検証と妥当性確認(Verification and Validation: V&V)の重要性は我が国においても誰もが認識し、諸外国のコンピュータシミュレーションを中心とした研究開発プロジェクトが脚光を浴びる度に、それらのV&Vのための体制を我が国においても構築する必要性が指摘されてきた。産業界で開発されるコードの場合、顧客の求める品質保証のプロセスに従ってコード開発が管理され、レベルの差はあるにしてもV&Vの体制は各組織で確立されているはずである。しかしながら所謂公開コードのV&Vはコード開発者と一部の利用者の個人的な努力に依存し、それを組織として公式に実施する体制は我が国には存在しない。本発表ではその理由と現状を変えるために何をすべきかを考えてみたい。

The importance of verification and validation (V&V) of computational codes and databases is well recognized in Japan. Whenever R&D projects centering on computer simulations in other countries come into the limelight, the need to establish such a V&V system in Japan has been pointed out. It has been pointed out in Japan that it is necessary to establish a system for V&V of computer simulation projects in Japan as well. In the case of codes developed in industry, code development is managed according to the quality assurance process customers require. A V&V system should have been established in each organization, even if there are differences in the level of V&V. However, the V&V system for so-called "publicly available codes" has not been established in Japan. However, the V&V of so-called publicly available code depends on the individual efforts of code developers and some users, and there is no system in Japan to implement it officially as an organization. In this presentation, I would like to discuss the reasons for this and what should be done to change the current situation.
