The films were prepared by spincasting from 1,2-dichloroethane solutions of 0.25-5.0 wt % BAPC. Even though longer annealing than 250 h was necessary for complete crystallization for bulk BAPC, high crystallinity was observed for 30 nm thick film after annealing at 200 C for 48 h in vacuum. Positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) measurements showed that the free volume hole size in 30 nm thick film was larger than that of bulk at 200 C. Comparison of the BAPC concentration in the precursor solution with the overlap concentration suggests that the high crystallinity of the 30 nm BAPC film is due to less entangled chains caused by rapid removal of the solvent from the dilute solution.

Two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulation shows that fast electrons with substantial numbers are generated at the outer tip of an inverse cone target irradiated by a short intense laser pulse. These electrons are guided and confined to propagate along the inverse cone wall, forming a large surface current. The experiment qualitatively verifies the guiding and confinement of the strong electron current in the wall surface. The large surface current and induced strong field s are of importance for fast ignition related research.

A project of the fission data measurement as well as the measurement of the neutron capture cross sections, using a surrogate method based on multi-nucleon transfer reactions, is running at JAEA. We have constructed appatus consists of a fission setup including four position-sensitive multi-wire proportional counters (MWPCs) to detect fission fragments and a capture setup containing two anti-Compton LaBr(Ce) spectrometers to measure the rays from the populated compound nuclei. Both setups contain a Si E-E detector to detect outgoing projectile-like particles by which we can identify the populated compound nuclei. We also placed 33 scintillators around the fission setup to detect fission neutrons in coincidence with the fission fragments. The measurements was carried out at the JAEA-Tokai tandem accelerator facility. In this contribution, we will present our results on neutron-induced fission and neutron capture cross sections by using the surrogate method.
