Fusion neutron skyshine experiment at FNS

Nakao, Makoto*; Nishitani, Takeo; Ochiai, Kentaro

Fusion neutron skyshine experiment have been carried out at the FNS(Fusion Neutronics Source) facility of Japan Atomic Energy Research and Institute. In this experiment, the skyshine port located just above the tritium target from which fusion neutron produced was open and the radiation dose rate of skyshine neutron that went out through the skyshine port was measured as far as about 550 m away from the tritium target with a spherical rem-counter. The measured neutron dose rate was compared with the calculation value by Monte Carlo simulation code MCNP-4B and a simple line source model.
