This report covers the study and tests performed to examine the seismic resist-ant stability of the graphite shielding and its supporting structures which are used for the fast breeder reactors. This experimental work was undertaken by the Construction Ministry's Building Research Institute working as the mainstay of the study group upon the request of the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation(PNC).The experiment planning and the evaluation of the experimental results were managedand undertaken by a committee especially formed with the participation of experts andspecialists in the respective concerned fields.For the vibration and seismic tests,the large capacity vibration-shaking tableat the National Disaster Defense Center was used by the courtesy of said Center,andthe test was conducted in cooperation with the Center's technical staff.
