This study aimed to discuss with the safe and resonable engineered barieersystem of TRU waste isolation and to extract research theme typical to the truwaste. The followings are items and results at this year.(1)Arrangement of information about TRU waste existed informations about TRU waste were arranged.(2)Discussion with basic concept of engineered barieer system. TRU waste isolation systems in overseas countries were surveyed and the components and functions of engineered barrier system were arranged. The method of safety assessment and the chemical behaviors of nuclides were surveyed. (3)classification of TRU waste and provisional engineered barrier system TRU wastes were recategirized into nine items. Time dependence of hazardindex of each waste was calculated. The provisional suitable barrier system were discussed and the hybrid usage of cementaneous materials and bentonite was considered as essential barrier components. (4)Comparison with safety performance of engineered barieer systems
