Measurements of thermal conductivity of bentonites and its mixtures with silica sand

The report concerns the measurement of thermal conductivity of compacted bentonite and its mixture with silica sand using a proposed point source method and the evaluation of conventional correlations predicting thermal conductivity of mixtures. The calculated values of the conventional correlations was compared with the exising and present data of thermal conductivity of mixtures. Fricke correlation and Bruggeman correlation are fitted with the data with practical accuracy.
