高レベル放射性廃棄物を地層処分した後に生じる熱-水-応力連成現象が広域地下水流動場に与える影響について検討するために、処分パネルの物性値を均質化理論により求める手法を提案した。処分場のユニットである処分パネルは処分孔が等間隔に並んだ構造にされるため、均質化理論が適用でき、処分パネルの透水性や熱伝導性を巨視的に表現できる。これらの均質化された透水性や熱伝導性が連成現象によって変化することを表現し、またそれらを適用した広域地下水流動場の解析を行なうことで本手法の有用性を示した。
