The advanced high level liquid waste (HLLW) management method, aiming the highly volume-reducing solidification, the separation of high heat-generating species and the recovery of the platinum metal, is studied. The newly developed method is to melt fps, etc. By heating directly, without using much reagents. During the process, CS is separated by volatilization, the platinum metal oxides are reduced to metals and finally, the remaining oxides are solidified into highly volume-reduced solid (fig.1). As a result, the solidified waste could be the mixture oxide of rare earth elements, alkaline earth elements, of Zr and actinides.
