Estimation of hydrogeological structure using the pressure derivative from the hydrotesting data

Takeuchi, Shinji

Hydrogeological structure was estimated using the pressure derivative from the hydrotesting data. The time derivatives of pressure changes obtained from hydrotesting data is easy to estimate the effect of wellbore storage and skin, formation character and boundary condition of a reservoir or aquifer etc. from wellbore to the far distance. By synthesizing several derivative plots of the water-conduction features (wcfs), connectivity of the wcfs can be estimated. In conclusion, the method using the derivative plots from the hydrotesting data could be useful for understanding the hydrogeological structure in the deep underground.
