原子力ハンドブックの改定にあたり、高レベル放射性廃棄物の貯蔵と処分に関して、高レベル放射性廃棄物の地層処分の研究開発状況を執筆する。まず、我が国における研究開発の経緯として地層処分研究開発の歴史を述べ、次に各国研究開発の進捗状況について概説する。次に、我が国の研究開発状況として各機関の役割,地質環境技術分野,工学技術分野,安全評価技術分野,地下研究施設,知識基盤の構築の順に研究開発状況を記述する。

Based on the rivision of the Handbook titled "Genshiryoku Handbook", we submitted the outline of Research and Development of High-level waste management. This chapter consists of the history of R&D of geological disposal, R&D situations of major coutries and Japanese current R&D status related geological disposal.
