原子力機構は、高燃焼度燃料の冷却材喪失事故時挙動を評価するための基礎データを取得することを目的とした研究計画を進めている。本計画では、総合的な模擬試験とともに分離効果試験を行っている。これまでに、水素を添加した未照射被覆管や高燃焼度燃料被覆管を用いて、酸化速度,破裂挙動,耐熱衝撃特性などの安全評価上重要なデータを取得した。本報告において、試験手法と結果をとりまとめる。

A research program is being conducted at the JAEA, with a view to obtaining basic data to evaluate high burnup fuel behavior under loss of coolant accident (LOCA) conditions. The program consists of integral thermal shock tests and other separate tests. Various data on oxidation rate, burst behavior and thermal shock resistance, which are important for the safety evaluation, have been obtained from the tests with pre-hydrided, non-irradiated cladding and high burnup fuel cladding. The present paper summarizes the test methodology and the results.
