Relativistic laser accelerator on a table top

High energy electrons,ions and X-rays are generated on a table top by intense optical field generated with high-power,ultra-short pulse lasers. Various interesting phenomena that take place in plasmas under relativistic intensity fields are being clarified by comparison with detailed computer simulations. In this presentation, recent progress in the laser accelerator, such as wake-field electron acceleration and relativistic flying mirror is reviewed.
