Resonant inelastic X-ray scattering study of YVO

I will present resonant inelastic X-ray scattering measurements of the electric excitations in YVO with the incident energy of the K edge of vanadium at room temperature. We observed excitations corresponding to a Mott gap. We also performed the measurements of polarization dependence of the excitations. Remarkable change was observed on the Mott excitations about the measurements above the T of the orbital order.
