Application of Raman spectroscopy for thermochemical hydrogen production IS process

Kasahara, Seiji  ; Imai, Yoshiyuki  ; Abe, Hiroyoshi*; Kubo, Shinji  ; Onuki, Kaoru

Applicability of Raman spectroscopy for measurement in thermochemical water-splitting IS process was investigated. H$$_{2}$$SO$$_{4}$$ solution obtained in the Bunsen reaction before and after purification was selected as targets. For pure H$$_{2}$$SO$$_{4}$$-H$$_{2}$$O solution, model as the solution after purification, possibility of a method of concentration measurement utilizing areas of Raman peaks was shown in the range between 5-70 wt%. For H$$_{2}$$SO$$_{4}$$-H$$_{2}$$O solution containing small amount of HI and I$$_{2}$$, model solution before purification, preliminary investigation of concentration range of impurities for H$$_{2}$$SO$$_{4}$$ concentration measurement was carried out.
