2006年10月16日から20日にかけて、検認課題への対応をテーマとした国際保障措置シンポジウムがIAEA本部で開催された。本シンポジウムでは、包括的保障措置協定及び追加議定書の広範な実施の推進等の課題について、全体セッション及び19セッションで合計65編の口頭発表及び69編のポスター発表があった。筆者は、再処理及び使用済燃料移送に関するセッション18において、「Safeguards improvement for the Tokai Reprocessing Plant (TRP)」と題する発表を行った。このセッションにおける各発表の概要及び要点を記述する。

The international safeguards symposium under the theme of the addressing verification challenges was held in IAEA headquarters from 16th to 20th October 2006. There were 65 verbal presentations in the plenary sessions and 18 parallel sessions and 69 poster presentations concerning the challenges for extensive implementation of the comprehensive safeguards agreements and the additional protocols and so on in this symposium. The author did a presentation titled "Safeguards improvement for the Tokai Reprocessing Plant (TRP)" in the session 18 concerning the reprocessing and the spent fuel transfer. It describes the outline and the main points of each presentation in this session.
