Development of polarization interferometer based on Fourier transform spectroscopy for Thomson scattering in TPE-RX

Hatae, Takaki; Howard, J.*; Hirano, Yoichi*; Koguchi, Haruhisa*; Naito, Osamu; Kitamura, Shigeru

A high-throughput polarization interferometer has been developed to demonstrate for the first time the utility of Fourier transform spectroscopy for Thomson scattering diagnostics of high temperature plasma. Target Te and ne ranges for the prototype polarization interferometer are $$<$$ 1 keV and $$>$$ 5$$times$$10$$^{18}$$m$$^{-3}$$, respectively. This paper describes the design of the polarization interferometer, the results of initial tests and measurement of TPE-RX plasma using the polarization interferometer.
