XUV diagnostics of preformed plasma in laser-driven proton acceleration experiments

We demonstrated that the preformed plasma in the relativistic laser-matter interaction can be monitored using XUV multilayer mirrors coupled to fast photodiodes and back-illuminated CCD. In particular, it was demonstrated that the temporal shape of the XUV plasma emission depends on the duration of ASE pedestal, which can be used for the diagnostics.
