Development of elastic polylactic acid with radiation crosslinking

Kanazawa, Shinichi*; Nagasawa, Naotsugu; Yagi, Toshiaki*; Tamada, Masao

Biologically originated polymer, polylactic acid, became commercially practical in a limited area owing to its low impact resistance. Elastic sheet of polylactic acid was obtained by dipping the radiation crosslinked polylactic acid into plasticizer heated up to 120$$^{circ}$$C. Without crosslinking, the polylactic acid cannot soak plasticizer since it was crystallized in the hot plasticizer.
