We report a result from the measurement of production ratios for isomeric states in neutron-deficient lead nuclei produced following the relativistic projectile fragmentation of $$^{208}$$Pb. This work forms part of the Rare Isotope Investigations at GSI (RISING) project. The isomeric states in the $$^{190}$$Pb region were populated using projectile fragmentation of the 1 GeV$$cdot A$$ $$^{208}$$Pb beam provided using the heavy-ion synchrotron (SIS) at GSI. The fragments producedin the reaction were separated and identified by the FRagment Separator (FRS). Delayed $$gamma$$ rays emitted from the known 11$$^-$$ and 12$$^+$$ isomers of the neutron deficient nucleus $$^{190}$$Pb were observed and the corresponding isomeric ratios were determined. The results are compared with a model based on the statistical abrasion-ablation process of relativistic fragmentation and simple assumptions concerning $$gamma$$-ray cascade transition in the final nucleus.
