Recent progress on X-ray laser source development and application activities at JAEA

Kishimoto, Maki

To widen the field of application of the X-ray laser, higher repetition rate of X-ray laser is needed. Moreover, the study on effective generation of X-ray laser by optimizing pumping conditions is very important in order to achieve the high repetition rate. At Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), we are developing a new type of high repetitive X-ray laser driver using zigzag slab amplifiers for application researches. Furthermore, for effective X-ray lasing, we developed an OPCPA (Optical Parametric Chirped Pulse Amplification) preamplifier instead of a regenerative amplifier and we are studying the optimization of X-ray lasing by controlling the pumping conditions such as the ratio of pre and main pulses. And we are planning to perform applications using the high repetition rate X-ray laser. In this conference, we talk about the recent progress on the development of the high repetition rate X-ray laser and the application activities using it.
