2 step mapping analysis of journals in nuclear science and technology

2 step mapping analysis which uses citation relations between journals has been used to evaluate journal collections, core journals of specific fields, etc. We report on the results of the analyses on journals of nuclear field listed in the Journal Citation Reports 2005, Science Edition (JCR). First, we analyzed journals in the nuclear science & engineering category of JCR and found that the most cited journal is the same journal mostly referred to by users of the JAEA library. In addition, we analyzed journals contained in nuclear specific database, INIS to evaluate journals in broad nuclear field including medicine, radiation application more than nuclear power. The second analysis has shown that the journals involved in are mostly categorized into two groups, medicine and physics.
