原爆反対と原子力の平和利用の同時達成を目指し1990年代より始まった日本とカザフスタン共和国との研究協力は着実に進展し、共同研究も大きな成果をあげてきており、まさに第2段階の協力を迎える状況にある。この8月30日から9月9日にカザフスタンを訪問する機会を得たので、以下にその概要を報告する。

The nuclear research cooperation between Japan and the Republic of Kazakhstan which started toward the coexistence between abolition of atomic bombs and peaceful use of nuclear energy in the 1990's has progressed steadily, and the joint study has achieved meaningful results. The joint study is just entering into the second stage. We would like to report the outline of our visit the Kazakhstan during August 30 to September 9, 2007
