Evaluation of prediction uncertainty due to nuclear data errors in criticality change with Pu-241 decay effect in LWR MOX fueled cores

Kojima, Kensuke; Okumura, Keisuke ; Kugo, Teruhiko ; Okajima, Shigeaki

Fissile nuclide Pu-241 decays in a half-life of about 14 years, and neutron absorber nuclide Am-241 is accumulated. Therefore, criticality changes with age in the mixed oxide fueled critical assemblies such as TCA and MISTRAL. The error due to nuclear data for the change was evaluated based on JENDL-3.3 and its covariance data for the TCA-MOX experiments from 1972 - 1979. As a result, it was found that the Am-241 capture reaction and the Pu-239 fission reaction have the majority of the error.
