Nuclear Technology and Education Center

This annual report summarizes the activities of Nuclear Technology and Education Center (NuTEC) of Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) in the fiscal year 2006, which has started half a year after the unification of the training sections of JAERI and JNC. During this period, NuTEC has conducted its training activities as planned. The number of trainees completing the domestic training courses was 518, and that for staff technical training was 545. A "Qualification course for the 3rd class radiation protection supervisor" has been newly implemented, and a trial "Preparatory course for qualifying examination for professional engineer in the nuclear and radiation fields" has been held for the staff members. In addition, preparative work has been performed for opening some of the staff training courses to the public. International cooperation was also conducted as scheduled, and setting up new training sites at Ongkharak, Thailand and Dalat, Vietnam has been supported. Cooperation for Nuclear Professional School, School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo which opened in 2005, has been duly continued.
