Generation of Energetic Beam Ultimate (GENBU) laser; OPCPA laser

High intensity, few-cycle lasers are being applied to various types of applications. We have recently completed a conceptual design of a next generation of OPCPA laser, named GENBU. A seed pulse is obtained from the front end of the GENBU-main laser. The pulse is focused into a piece of fused silica to generate a white light continuum. The white light is then temporally stretched and pre-compensated its phase by a phase modulator. The stretched pulse is amplified in the series of OPA. A fraction of the compressed pulse from the main laser is frequency doubled and then used for pumping the OPA's. A goal of the GENBU-OPCPA laser is to produce few-cycle (
5 fs) pulses with an energy of 30 J which corresponds to the peak power of up to 6 PW. In this presentation, we will describe the detailed design of the system and challenges for ultrabroadband and high-energy amplification and phase compensation.
