Systematics of prompt fission neutron spectra

Iwamoto, Osamu

New systematics to calculate prompt fission neutron spectra (PFNS) for neutron-induced and spontaneous fissions were proposed. A new PFNS calculation model that had good predictability for actinides was derived from modifying the Los Alamos model. The model was used for the analyses of the experimental PFNS data and the model parameters were obtained for nuclei from Th to Cf. It was found that the obtained parameters for each nucleus had global trend against atomic number and mass number. The systematics of the parameters were obtained. It was demonstrated that the calculated results using present systematics showed good reproducibility of experimental data.
