Fast reactor core design considerations for the LWR-FBR transition period, 3; Reactivity coefficients variation depending on TRU compositions

Kawashima, Katsuyuki; Mizuno, Tomoyasu

When a fast reactor is loaded with fuel with a various TRU composition from the LWR spent fuel, it is necessary to evaluate a core characteristics considering a change of the expected TRU composition. In this study, the dependence of the reactivity coefficients for various kinds of TRU composition from LWR spent fuels and a fast reactor multi-recycled fuels is examined and a range of the reactivity coefficients change to be used in safety analysis is shown for the MOX fuel core (high internal conversion type core) of the medium-sized 750MWe reactor.
