By the combination of laser induced breakdown spectroscopy and laser ablation initiated resonance spectroscopy, we are developing the remote analysis for impurity and isotope ratio measurement on the nuclear fuel material. The purpose of this study and some recent results are discussed. In the breakdown spectroscopy, some differences of the spatial characteristics of double pulse LIBS and the conventional single pulse LIBS, importance of the optimized power balance of breakdown and ablation for effective plasma emission, and the performance of impurity measurement of order 100 ppm are shown. In the isotope ratio measurement, high resolution observation conditions are performed in the measurement of Gadolinium isotopes.
