Development of scintillator based neutron detectors for intense pulsed neutrons

We have developed a high-position-resolution two-dimensional neutron imaging detector system used for pulsed-neutron scattering instruments in J-PARC. It is dispensable to develop a TOF signal processing and data acquisition system in this detector system. Therefore, we developed a TOF image signal-processing device with two 100 MHz FPGAs and a TOF data acquisition system with two FPGAs. Circuit design and its algorisms for TOF measurements and the fundamental performances for this system are reported.
