In order to elucidate the mechanism of high burnup structure of light water reactor, high energy ion irradiation (200MeV Xe) was performed. The damage behavior was evaluated with synclotron radiation. It is suggested that charge state of Ce atom changes from +4 to +3 after the irradiation.
