Ultrafast plasma photonics; Measurement and control of laser wakefield

Kondo, Kiminori

In this study, the possibility of a measurement of ultrafast dynamical wakefield plasmas will be discussed. 2D images of tunneling ionization of He gas, which were obtained with frequency domain interferomation method (FDI) have been obtained. Temporal resolution of each flame was 14 fs. By applying this method to FDI with chirped pulse, 2D dynamics could be obtained with single shot base. This development could open the fruitful possibility of ultrafast plasma photonics such as wakefield plasmas. By developing controlled periodical plasma structure, a pulse compressor with plasmas could be possible. Recently, our group succeeded in generating stable quasi-mono energetic electron beam with a simple gas jet target. We are planning to study on not only a mechanism of quasi-mono energetic beam, but also a stabilization of acceleration with this single shot method.
