Emergence of magnetic modulations in the overdoped phase of Bi2201 by Fe doping

Recently, we succeeded in growing large single crystals of Fe and Pb co-doped superconducting compound Bi2201, and diffuse scatterings were discovered at incommensurate positions around the antiferromagnetic wave vector $$(pi, pi)$$ below $$T sim 30$$ K with unpolarized neutron. We have carried out polarized neutron scattering experiments on TAS-1 at JRR-3, and confirmed that the incommensurate diffuse scattering has the magnetic origin. This is the first observation of magnetic order in the Bi2201 compounds.
