Investigation of model for stress corrosion cracking of cladding materials

Kaji, Yoshiyuki  ; Igarashi, Takahiro  ; Nakazawa, Tetsuya; Tsuru, Tomohito

We will introduce about fundamental investigation results of stress corrosion cracking (SCC) for cladding materials in this presentation. Two dimensional SCC growth model has been developed and the effect of shear stress and corrosion at grain boundary were confirmed by macroscopic approach. It was found that bond energies of Fem clusters decrease with increasing number of Ni atoms and low bond strength regions appear around random grain boundary as compared with coincidence site lattice grain boundary and edge dislocation was splited by interaction between grain boundary and dislocation.
