Toward laser-driven proton therapy of cancer at PMRC in Japan

陽子線医学利用研究センターにおけるレーザー駆動陽子線によるがん治療

Bolton-san will discuss the advancement of laser-driven proton acceleration applied to therapy of cancer. He will outline progress to date from laser-plasma experiments and specific challenges in the near future. Also, generic beamline design will be presented for candidate treatment facilities. Laser, targets and proton beamline optics requirements will be discussed. Exemplary dose distribution simulations will also be presented and an outline of the PMRC organization.
