We synthesized SiC based ceramic fiber made from blend polymer of polycarbosilane (PCS) and polysiloxane. In the case of the polymer blends of PCS and polymethylphenylsiloxane (PMPhS), the surface area of the ceramic fiber derived from the polymer was high and showed the maximum of 152 m$$^{2}$$/g, at 1673 K. As for the polymer blends of PCS and polymethylhydrosiloxane (PMHS), the maximum surface area of the ceramic fiber was 36.8 m$$^{2}$$/g at 1723 K. The fiber, however, maintained tensile strength of 0.35 GPa even after 1723 K heat treatment.
