Charge-spin-orbital dynamics of one-dimensional two-orbital Hubbard model

We study the real-time evolution of excited states in a one-dimensional two-orbital Hubbard model, by a time-dependent density-matrix renormalization group method. When we consider $$e_{rm g}$$ orbitals along the $$z$$ direction, electrons can hop only between 3$$z$$$$^{2}$$-$$r$$$$^{2}$$ orbitals due to the spatial anisotropy of the orbital shape. In such a case, creating a hole into the ground state, we observe that wavepackets of the spin density and the charge density propagate in opposite directions with its own individual velocity. Thus, the spin-charge separation is clearly observed. We will discuss the propagation of wavepackets of various types of excited states that possess hole, holon-doublon, magnon, and orbiton.
