Securing and fostering the younger experts responsible for radiation protection; Views from the young radiation protection engineers in Japan

放射線防護に責任を有する若手専門家の確保と育成; 我が国の若手放射線防護エンジニアの考え

本講演は「放射線防護に責任を有する若手専門家の確保及び育成」と題するセッションの一部である。本講演では、我が国の放射線防護に関係する技術者の育成にかかわる現状を調査した結果を報告する。調査対象は、主な研究機関の技術系組織、放射線監視機関そして電力会社を含む放射線関連企業の20事業所とした。加えて、日本保健物理学会若手研究会の技術者が望む若手育成についての提言を報告する。本調査結果では以下の見解を得た。放射線防護に関係する技術者の育成のために、両調査対象が認識していることは、(1)国内外の会合や委員会への積極的な参加、そして、(2)個人の専門的応用能力を開発することが効率的な手法である。若手技術者は、(3)職務への責任と多くの経験を要望するという意見が特徴的であった。

This presentation is a part of session which is titled securing and fostering the younger experts responsible for radiation protection. Speaker reports results of current status survey for securing and fostering the radiation protection (RP) engineers. The reports are based on comments from 20 organizations such as RP-related research institute, radiation monitoring institute, and industries. In addition, proposals about activities for development of engineer resources, which are desired by engineers of young researchers association of Japan Health Physics Society, are reported. These results of surveys both organizations and young RP engineers are concluded as follows: In order to foster young RP engineers, both subjects are recognizing that (1) actively participating RP engineers in RP-related conferences and committees and (2) developing own specialty are more effective measure. Young RP engineers aspire, (3) to have responsibility for own work and to increases various experiences.
