MIU Project Research and development of basis for engineering technologies in deep underground; Progress after FY2005 and future work

Matsui, Hiroya

This report is described about main topics in "Research and development of basis for engineering technologies in deep underground" after FY2005 and future work. The main subjects of the study are Demonstration of the design methodology, Demonstration of existing and supplementary excavation methods, Demonstration of countermeasures during excavation and Demonstration of safe construction. The design methodology applied in surface-based investigation phase, used excavation method were estimated and demonstrated for excavation of shafts and drifts until 300m depth. The existing grouting technology to decrease inflow in shaft and drift was demonstrated as well. Research and development on previous main subjects will be continued with excavation of shafts and drifts in future.
