国産放射線挙動シミュレーション計算コードシステム開発の必要性と展望

Necessity and prospect for development of radiation behavior simulation code system made in Japan

MCNP/MCNPXコードは、核・臨界から中性子・光子の遮蔽及び加速器施設等での高エネルギー放射線の挙動・遮蔽までの計算に広く使われている。本年4月に米国オークリッジ国立研究所ORNLの放射線安全情報計算センターRSICCから、国内で登録コードを配布している高度情報科学技術研究機構RISTに新たな配布停止の指示があり関係者に衝撃が走った。これらは、設計計算や実験解析に広く用いられているとともに、組み込んだ計算コードも開発されている。本稿では、国内での使用状況、及び組み込んだ計算コードの開発状況を概観する。幸い我が国では、原子炉核計算用として汎用中性子・光子輸送計算モンテカルロコードMVP,広範囲なエネルギーの各種放射線挙動解析の粒子・重イオン輸送計算コードPHITS、及び核データとしてJENDL-4が着々と開発・整備されている。

The MCNP/MCNPX codes are widely used for nuclear analyses and critical safety evaluations in nuclear facilities, shielding calculations of neutrons and photons, and behavior analyses and shielding calculations of high energy radiation in accelerators facilities. In this April, Radiation Safety Information Computational Center (RSICC) of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in USA sent the message that the new distributions of these codes should be stopped for the time being to Research Organization for Information Science & Technology (RIST) which can distribute codes registered by RSICC in Japan. The persons concerned were shocked by the news. These codes are used for design calculations and experimental analyses, and incorporated in newly developing codes. In this paper, the present status of these code usage and code development incorporated by these is reviewed. Fortunately codes and data set, the general-purpose neutron and photon transport Monte Carlo code MVP for reactor nuclear analyses, particle and heavy ion transport code system PHITS for behavior analyses of various radiation with wide range energy and JENDL-4 for nuclear data, are developing and preparing steadily in Japan.
