Laser-driven proton acceleration research and development

We describe the proton acceleration and plasma diagnostic experiments conducted with J-KAREN laser at APRC, JAEA. More specifically, we describe the laser and target parameters and their influence on the maximum proton energy. We analyze the results of the full-power, on-target laser contrast measurement using target reflectivity. We also describe the laser-driven proton beam manipulation using permanent magnet quadrupoles and the radioactivation experiments using multi-MeV proton source.
