Void distribution in oxide glasses

Void distributions in various oxide glasses were analyzed using atomic configurations obtained by reverse Monte Carlo modeling on the basis of high-energy X-ray and pulsed-neutron diffraction data. We found that silica glass exhibits about 30% of volume assigned to the void. Furthermore we discuss the relationship between void and glass forming ability.
