Helium emitted by $$alpha$$-decay of MA is accumulated in UO$$_{2}$$ and affects on the behavior of the fuel. In the present study, the authors examined the variation of the micro texture of a fuel matrix by the precipitation of helium using single and poly crystalline UO$$_{2}$$. It was found that the precipitated helium form a negative crystal which mainly consists of {111} and {100} crystal planes. The shape of the negative crystal changes depending on the history of the heat treatment.
