The efficiency of inelastic neutron scattering measurements by a chopper spectrometer can be markedly improved by utilizing multiple incident energies (Multi-Ei method). However, in conventional chopper systems, optimization of the experimental condition for all incident energies is absolutely impossible. In order to overcome this problem, we developed a new Fermi chopper with a supermirror-coated slitpackage (MAGIC chopper). In this presentation, we will introduce the principle of MAGIC chopper and discuss the performance test of a rotating supermirror-coated slitpackage.
