In ITER and fusion reactors, behavior of energetic particles (EPs) such as alpha particles could play an important role for performance of self-heated plasmas including a damage of first wall. It is also expected that several types of instabilities such as Alfv$'e$n eigenmode (AE) through wave-particle resonant interactions. Usually, these EP-driven instabilities can enhance EP transport itself, thus redistribution of EP profile in real and velocity spaces could occur. The redistribution can interact with other phenomena such as edge localized mode (ELM) and internal transport barrier (ITB) formation. Experimental results indicating these relations between EP-driven instabilities and H-mode physics including ELM trigger and ITB formation have been reported in the past. In this invited talk, EP-driven instabilities are reviewed with emphasis on interactions with H-mode and transport barrier physics including ELM and ITB formation mechanism.
