Densified SiO$$_{2}$$ glass study by RMC simulation using X-ray and neutron diffraction data

Yagafarov, O.; Kohara, Shinji*; Temleitner, L.*; Inamura, Yasuhiro  ; Katayama, Yoshinori

Vitreous silica has been subject of interest and intensive research for a long time due to its both fundamental and applied importance. One of the most intriguing topics is its permanent densification mechanism under pressure (above 10 GPa at room temperature). Here we present study of previously measured X-ray and neutron diffraction data on normal and densified silica glass by means of the Reverse Monte Carlo (RMC) method.
