Technique for measuring distribution of trace elements using micro-PIXE

In order to make elemental analysis in a minute cell, we developed in-air micro-PIXE analysis system in which light-ion microbeam of diameter 0.25m is used, and the imaging of the trace-element distribution was successfully carried out. This system is widely applied in the fields of medicine, biology, pharmacy, and dentistry.
