The 1st reactivity experiment on hafnium hydride absorber using the FCA facility

A series of reactivity experiment to evaluate nuclear characteristics of hafnium hydride (HfH) absorber with the use of the FCA was planned in the framework of "Utilization Research and Development of Innovative Fast Reactor Core with Hydride Neutron Absorber". The experiment consists of two phases; the reactivity worth experiment with the use of plates simulating HfH were performed in the 1st phase, and that with the pin-shaped testing materials will be carried out in the 2nd phase. The result of the analysis using the standard fast reactor analysis method with the JENDL-3.3 library showed underestimation of several %.
