Recently, the development of neutron detectors without He-3 gas has become active rapidly because of shortage of He-3 gas on a global scale. Although various types of the alternatives to He-3 gas detectors have been developed so far, they have not still been superior to the He-3 gas detectors and insufficient from the point of view of sensitivity, efficiency and persistence. We therefore have has newly started an R&D project of inorganic solid scintillation neutron detectors using B-10 and Li-6 combined with ZnS, which are expected to be equal to He-3 gas detectors in performances. The reaction probability between neutron and the scintillators provided with a nuclear fuel assembly assay system was calculated by using Monte Carlo simulation code, MVP. Those results evaluated from the technical standpoint are presented.
