Unveiling key players in the geological disposal environment

This study is aimed to understand the microbiological properties in deep granitic fresh water aquifer. As the result of investigation at two URLs, Mizunami Underground Research Laboratory and Grimsel Test Site, it is suggested that some microbes are cosmopolitan in the granitic freshwater aquifer and radionuclide interactions should be clarified to provide general and reliable information for the safety of geological disposal in granitic subsurface.
